ABOUT US

bjorn in workshop

Welcome to B.L. Custom Carpentry's Web site.

I have been working in the building trade most of my life. I have over 20 years of construction experience. I have worked for contractors who do remodeling and new construction in Las Vegas since 1998 and for contractors in Anchorage, Alaska, during the early '90s.

I also have worked construction for city of Las Vegas as a carpenter for the Clark County School District for almost 7 years.

Originally from Oslo, Norway, I grew up with a father who got me interested in woodcarving and wood turning, and have an older brother who is skilled at making knives and other tools.

After high school, and service in the Army, I worked for a local garage center. We built garages, installed overhead doors and automatic openers. I left Norway for Alaska after army service in 1989.

At the end of a workday, I still enjoy my small workshop. I build smaller furniture pieces and experiment with wood finishes and stains as well as wood joinery. Like my brother, I also make knives every year. However, most customers have more practical needs - such as bookcases, built in storage units, base and casings, etc.

B.L. Custom Carpentry is a family-owned business, and I am committed to the satisfaction of my customers and always offer a fair price for honest work.

When you are choosing a carpenter to work in your home, it's important to know a few things about the person. First, he should be licensed, bonded and insured, which I am. The regulations put in place by the state of Nevada are for consumer protection.

Second, you should be able to trust the carpenter's skills and his presence in your home. I can provide references from previous customers on request and I won't tell you I can do something if I can't.

Please feel free to call or e-mail for information or to request a job bid. I will take care of your home as my wife and I take care of our own.

Sincerely,
Bjorn Losnedahl
