I highly recommend Bjorn for any carpentry work you may need. Bjorn worked in my newly renovated home from doorways and walls to setting bathtubs and making shelves. Bjorn also worked on the outside of my home and set drain pipes to the house so the rainwater wouldn't just sit on the roof. I have to say, he is meticulous in his work. He kept me updated through his work and made sure I understood what was being done. I know I will have no worries in the future about any of the projects Bjorn created in my home.

My house had a living room alcove that was the perfect spot for a bookcase. Books are tremendously heavy, however, and when I had bookcases built in a different house two years ago (by one of the closet design companies whose ads you see everywhere), the installers had to come back a few days later and shore up shelves that started sagging as soon as I filled them with books. So I was concerned about having shelves strong enough to hold hundreds of pounds of books and art objects. The concern was unnecessary, as it turned out.

The huge, nearly floor-to-ceiling bookcase Bjorn built is unbelievably sturdy as well as a gorgeous piece of woodworking. He built it off the property, and when he brought it in, it fit perfectly. The corners of the shelves are beveled, an element of handcrafting that gives it a true custom look. It's strong — I can pile on the books — and it is the focal point and pride of my living room.

Bjorn's rates are more than reasonable. My only concern with this project was a sneaking suspicion that he didn't charge enough. I recommend him for your home construction projects without hesitation, and certainly will ask him to do further work in my home.

Bjorn repaired my leaning patio roof and made it better than new by replacing rusty hardware and adding additional braces on its support posts. I had expected him to tell me that I would need to tear down and replace the 20-year-old wooden cover, but Bjorn fixed it in a matter of hours and even repainted it to match the surrounding trim. And all at a reasonable price, too.
